With hurricane season just around the corner, the governor's office is reminding the public to be prepared. Governor Bobby Jindal has declared this week to be "Severe Weather Awareness Week" in Louisiana.
The Governor is encouraging the public to learn how to protect themselves, their families and their homes in the event of severe weather. The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is helping spread that word. Deidra Druilhet, with DOTD, says they want to make sure everyone is being proactive, that they know where to go, and which direction to take.
Druilhet says once that plan is in place, to review it with loved ones. If you'd like more information on how you can prepare, visit www.dotd.la.gov
