Dialing the wrong phone number usually results in an apology and wishing the other party a nice day, but for one Kaplan woman her wrong call has landed her in jail for several drug violations. Mother of three Synthia Grother is being charged with distribution of scheduled two narcotics and possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a juvenile.
Agents with the Vermillion municipal narcotics task force were contacted by a concerned citizen on March 3rd saying they had received a strange call from a woman attempting to sell them illicit drugs. Grother's phone number was obtained and she was contacted by an undercover agent who she agreed to meet on two separate occasions to sell him prescription drugs.
Grother was taken into custody during the second meeting where it was discovered she had other outstanding warrants such as probation and parole revocation.
