Louisiana taxpayers are leaving tens of millions of dollars of property insurance rebates unclaimed each year.
Nearly two-thirds of property owners are foregoing the rebates for the Louisiana citizens property insurance corporation assessment.
By the end of last year more than 255 million dollars remained unclaimed. According to insurance commissioner, Jim Donelon, property owners still have time to claim their rebate.
The option to claim the rebate for the 2009 assessment expires after December 21st of this year. For more information you can log on to www.revenue.louisiana.gov
