The Scott Police Department saw an increase in dispatched calls last year of 2% over the previous year. The Scott Police Department responded to 15,254 dispatched calls during the year 2012. Of these dispatched calls, there was an increase of 28% in the 326 adult arrests and a 15% increase of the 98 juvenile arrests from the year past. The Scott Police Department increased traffic enforcement and still had an 11% increase in crashes with 523 crashes for the year. Of these crashes, 116 were rear end crashes mostly from drivers being inattentive or distracted from mobile devices. An increase in Domestic Violence and Thefts were also noticed and contributed the majority of these calls and arrests to the economy. On a good note, the Scott Police Department did see a decrease in Drug arrest by 75%. The Scott Police Department contributes some of the increase in stats to the fast growing paste of the City. After a review of the total stats, Chief Chad Leger is very confident that with the continuing growth of the City of Scott, Scott is a very safe place for people to live and work as well as a great place to raise a family and watch your kids learn, play and grow.
