Special Ed Program Funding Changes

State Superintendent of Education John White says he's changing the way the state funds more than $80,000 students.

Under the proposal White has presented to superintendents, the state's funding method would be revamped over three years to improve the state's 29% graduation rate, which is the second lowest in the nation.

But could these proposed funding changes have an impact on the services parish schools are able to provide? That's the question we asked Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau.

News 10's Erin Nicole has the answer in the video above.
