In Lafayette, a 30-year-old Maryland man was sentenced to eight years in prison for possessing child pornography.
A US District Judge sentenced Phillip Sessa this past Tuesday.
According to officials; an acquaintance of Sessa told authorities that Sessa had child pornography on his personal computer at his home in IOpelousas.
When questioned about the images on his computer, Sessa allegedly told authorities some were of his girlfriend's children who lived in the Baltimore area.
Over the course of the investigation, authorities seized more than 150,000 images and videos. Sessa was arrested in January 2012 and pleaded guilty in July.
