
State police are investigating a two vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Jefferson Davis Parish that claimed the life of a woman from Welsh. Sgt. James Anderson says a small pickup was traveling west when the driver, 25-year-old Tressa Hoffpauir, drove onto the right shoulder Monday night and abruptly drove back onto the westbound right lane of travel into path of an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler then struck the driver's side of the pickup. Anderson says Hoffpauir was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Two passengers in her vehicle, 32-year-old Shannon Hoffpauir of Jennings and a juvenile were transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
