Michael Lotief resigns as UL Softball Coach

New 10 Sports confirmed via multiple sources, UL Softball Coach Michael Lotief resigned Friday Morning. Lotief has been on the coaching staff since 2001.  He does plan on staying on the staff as a volunteer assistant.  Assistant Megan Granger will be the interim head coach.

Reportedly was unhappy with pay for his assistant coaches, and was fighting for across the board raises. 

The University had no comment, on the Lotief situation.

Michael Lotief has been regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the game of college softball!

Early this year, Stefni Lotief, his wife, resigned to "spend more time with their family."  They were Co-Head coaches since 2003.

The softball season starts on Saturday in Houston, with a 4:30 Game against Lipscomb.
