Elementary Student Arrested for Gun Possession - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

Rapides Parish sheriff's deputies say students alerted faculty to a fifth-grader who was showing off a revolver in his backpack at Horseshoe Drive Elementary School.

The Town Talk reports  the student was taken into custody Monday and the weapon was recovered.

Authorities say the .22 caliber revolver was not loaded.
