Cow Island Man Arrested in Shooting Death of Son
A deadly shooting took place last night in Cow Island between a father and son. According to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's office, they responded to a 911 call around 7:20 PM. When they got there, 41 year old Macade Harrington of Kaplan was shot.
The accused killer and Macade's father 68 year old Charles Larry Harrington, allegedly shot his son after a fight broke out between the two over money. Cow Island residents are now left wondering what went wrong. One of those residents and Harrington's cousin Peggy Gaspard said Charles is a good guy and that he always got along with people.
She says she cannot understand why this happened and that it is especially hard because no one knows for sure what took place. The suspect Charles Harrington is being held in the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center, charged with manslaughter. At this time, bond has not yet been set.
