Lawrence "Big Daddy" Richard was arrested Tuesday after District Judge Patrick Michot issued a bench warrant for his failure to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing.
Richard was to appear for pre-trial pertaining to three arrests in 2011 on January 17th.
Back in March of that year, he was accused of ruining Mardi Gras for a group of Lafayette residents and their children.
Richard allegedly took thousands of dollars from a group of Hub City residents in exchange for his promise to provide them with a float for the Independent Parade on Mardi Gras.
When the float and Richard were a no show the families filed criminal charges. A second pre-trial date has been set for April 18th.
