Vermilion Parish has a new school superintendent, after the previous superintendent Randy Schexnayder retired. Jerome Puyau has been with the school system since 1991 and has worked his way up to where he is now.
One of the biggest changes Puyau plans to make is how accessible technology is in schools throughout the parish. Superintendent Puyau says every student should have access to either an iPad, tablet or laptop in the classroom and will map out a plan as to how to make that possible.
Puyau has a four year term as superintendent and says his overall goal is to make Vermilion Parish number one in the state when it comes to student achievement.
