Bullying has swept schools all across Acadiana in recent months, but one organization hopes to put a dent in that. Lafayette's Christian Youth Theater (CYT) has teamed up with the Junior League of Lafayette conducting several assemblies at local schools to discuss bullying.
One way they are getting this message across is by putting on a play called Honk, a modern day version of the book, The Ugly Duckling.
Kristi Perry with CYT says that many kids are visual and by putting this play on, kids will remember it and hopefully learn from it. The Junior League has made it possible for students at five schools in Lafayette to attend the full version of the production, free of charge, by purchasing their tickets.
The public is encouraged to attend the show, HONK starting this Thursday January 31st thru February 3rd. If you'd like more information or to purchase tickets you can go to their website at www.cytlafayette dot org.
