Vandals have struck the city of Youngsville over the past few weeks, damaging property meant to enhance the area. According to the city's mayor, Wilson Viator, someone has deliberately driven their vehicle up and onto the cities newly built roundabouts, drudging holes into the grass with their tires, toppling plants and shrubs along the way.
It's a repetitive act of vandalism that has the mayor reacting. Mayor Viator says he has looked into putting a camera system at every major roundabout in the area but at this point it is just too expensive. Viator says he is looking at alternative ways of protecting the city against vandals.
In the meantime Viator is asking for the public to report anyone exhibiting destructive behavior to the police because this cannot and will not be tolerated anymore.
