While most parishes are dealing with flood damage, the crawfish capital is picking up the pieces left behind from not one, but two tornadoes.
The National Weather Service confirmed that two EF 1 tornadoes touched down in Breaux Bridge. The first tornado touched down on Thursday morning and then another Sunday, both damaging houses, power lines and uprooting trees.
Thursday's tornado caused most of the damage and nearly destroyed La Poussiere Cajun Dancehall. The owner, Lawrence Patin, says he will rebuild. That the people of Acadiana have come together to help get them back on their feet.
Patin says people in the community have set a fundraiser for February second at his dancehall. Any money raised would help pay for the damage. Anyone looking for more information can call La Poussiere at 337-332-1721.
