ULM Audit Findings

An audit of the University of Louisiana at Monroe shows the university is missing funds totaling $58,554 from its Department of Recreational Services as a result of cash control deficiencies.  The audit, released Thursday by the Louisiana legislative auditor, noted that additional funds could be missing because some pre-numbered receipts had been removed from the receipt books and about three months of cash register tapes were not located.  ULM President Nick Bruno said the university became aware in July that revenues in the Department of Recreational Services were less than expected.  Laura Woodard, ULM's director of media relations, said the employees in the recreational department were no longer at the institution. She could not comment whether the school intended to take any actions against them.
