Lydia Man Dies in Crash on LA 85

State Police have released the identity of the pedestrian struck and killed last night on highway 85.

58 year old James Nguyen of Lydia was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck and killed by a car.

It happened on Louisiana highway 85 north of Dozie Guillotte Road at 6:15 PM Monday night.

According to troopers, Nguyen was wearing dark clothing and was not crossing at an intersection or crosswalk when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person in the passenger car was not injured and the crash remains under investigation.
