Lafayette New Year’s Celebrations

Lafayette hosted several New Year's Events. On Monday morning, parents and their children celebrated at the New Year's Noon and Carnival Countdown held by the Children's Museum. Hundreds watched the confetti fall during a four hour celebration. Sara Yongue, Director of Public Relations said the event gave families a chance to enjoy New Year festivities.

"Most of the time they fall asleep before the New Year's celebrations, so this gives the whole family a fun time to celebrate."

As for adults, Downtown Lafayette will host several special events at popular nightclubs. The Greenroom is offering patrons special drinks and a free cover, while The Jefferson Street Pub hosts their 2nd annual Black and White Affair. Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie will perform in front of 300 guest at the Performance Center in Vermilionville. The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana are holding a cocktail attire New Year's Eve Bash, featuring Krossfyre.
