There's another proposed change for N.P. Moss Prep. The superintendent wants to open a satellite program on the campus. The program would be part of AMI, Acadiana Marine Institute in Acadia Parish. Superintendent Doctor Pat Cooper says the satellite program would be an alternative for expelled N.P. Moss students. He says it's an intervention that will keep them off the streets and eventually back into their initial school. In 2007, AMI tried to open its facility for at-risk-boys in Lafayette. Instead the company moved to Branch, after being met with objections here. Cooper plans to introduce the satellite idea to the school board Wednesday evening.
