BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team learned early in Saturday's regular season finale at Florida Atlantic that East Carolina will be their opponent in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 22.
The opponent was determined when Tulsa defeated Central Florida, 33-27 in overtime, in the Conference USA Championship game. With the win, Tulsa will represent C-USA in the Liberty Bowl and UCF will play in the Beef O'Brady Bowl, sending East Carolina to New Orleans to meet the East Carolina completed the regular season last week with an 8-4 overall record, finishing tied with Central Florida for first place in the Conference USA East division with a 7-1 record.
This will be the 11th all-time meeting between the Pirates and the Cajuns, but the first since 1990, with Louisiana owning a 6-4 lead in the all-time series.
Tickets remain available for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
Fans can download the ticket order form located at the Bowl Central page on RaginCajuns.com, select the bowl games that they wish to attend and submit them via mail, email or in person to the Cajuns.
