Julian was born January 29, 2009 in Palestine Texas. He had been living in Lafayette for the past month.
Julian was found unresponsive and in grave condition, at a relative's home. Deputies say fresh injuries and healing injuries indicate the child had been the victim of prolonged abuse.
Landon Broussard (21) is charged of first degree murder. Broussard is the boyfriend of the child's mother, 22 year old Laura Smith who was also arrested and charged as a principal to first degree murder.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is still investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy. The child was found unresponsive Thursday morning in the home of a relative of the mother's boyfriend. He was taken to Women's and Children's Hospital where he later died.
Thursday night investigators were learning more about the gruesome death of the toddler, and have even made two arrests in the case.
With two people arrested in just 12 hours, the LPSO is closer to answers in the death of the boy. According to the affidavit, this is a case of severe child abuse.
Not long after a 911 call the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. Doctors say the child suffered severe blunt force trauma to the head, face, and neck, his eyes were swollen shut, and his body was covered in bruises.
Authorities charged 21-year-old Landon Broussard with first degree murder and 22-year-old Laura Smith with principal to first degree murder. Smith is the mother of the child, Broussard is her boyfriend.
Broussard told investigators a door had fallen on the child the night before. But, doctors say that story doesn't coincide with the injuries.
"Through examination of the kid, we found fresh injuries, we believe occurred yesterday evening, early morning," said Captain Kip Judice with LPSO. "We also found healing bruises that occurred over the course of time."
The coroner is currently working to determine the exact cause of death.
