St. Landry Parish Food Drive Preview

One week from today is our annual food for families food drive and with our sluggish economy and the colder months upon us demand is higher than ever. One of those areas in need is in St. Landry Parish.  Food pantries and shelters there are looking to stock their shelves with food collected that day. The drop off location there is at the Wal-Mart parking lot on Creswell lane in Opelousas. Items collected will then be distributed to nine locations in that parish, including the Opelousas lighthouse mission, which houses and feeds almost thirty men. Those who stay there say they are so thankful for the people who donate. It not only keeps food on their table all year long but keeps them healthy.
