A new, synthetic drug is now off limits in Louisiana.
The state has enacted an emergency ban to keep this potentially deadly drug off the streets. It's called "2C-i", or "Smiles" and it's blamed for at least five deaths nationwide, including one Arkansas man's death at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans last week.
Officials say the drug is similar to bath salts. Among its side effects, brain hemorrhages, seizures and hallucinations.
Virginia is the only other state with a ban.
