She was located off of Heart D Farm Rd in a heavily/thick vined and overgrown area under an old tree that was laying on the ground, with a self-inflicted fatal injury (suicide).
I would like to express my thanks to Lafayette Sheriff's Office, Patterson PD, Church Point PD, friends and citizens that assisted us in the search efforts; most importantly I would like to thank the officers of the Broussard Police Dept for their tireless efforts and initiatives that were done in an attempt to locate her.
Citizens are concerned for the welfare of a woman who's been missing since Thursday, November 8th. Broussard police say they have no leads on the whereabouts of Paulette Thibodeaux, 45 of Eunice. Thibodeaux had been living in Broussard when friends contacted police.
Police tell us that Paulette's friends say in recent days the woman they've known to have a cheerful disposition - had grown somewhat depressed. When Paulette didn't return to her Robicheaux Road home - her roommate called police Friday. Billie Meyer is a friend of 30 years. "All of a sudden she just walked out took her keys and we don't know where she went."
Broussard police chief Brannon Decou says Paulette has limited family- and her parents are deceased. Friends have gone door to door. The search continued over the weekend by aircraft and ATV's. "We have some cornfields that are cut where it may have been harder for us to physically go down each row. It was easy for them to see down into the rows. All these search efforts have come up with negative results."
Decou says they don't suspect foul play nor are there any indicators that something happened at the home. Paulette Thibodeaux is 5'4", brown eyes, brown wavy hair and weighs about 155 lbs. "Tough time yes. We're missing her very much. If anyone would see her to please call 911," adds Meyer.
Police say Paulette was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red t-shirt with a design/emblem on front.
