Parks Marijuana Cultivation - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

A Parks man is in jail for allegedly cultivating marijuana. Narcotics agents with the Saint Martin Parish Sheriff's Office went to the home of 24 year old Kory Melancon. A search was conducted and a large scale cultivation lab was located. Several marijuana plants and a large amount of high grade marijuana were produced in the lab. The marijuana had a street value of about $30,000. Agents also seized a handgun and over $3,000 in cash. Melancon is being charged with operating a clandestine lab, manufacturing schedule one narcotics, and several other charges.
