The voting machines used in Tuesday's election were opened Friday morning. Board of Elections Supervisors met at the voting machine warehouse in Scott to complete the process. This is a standard formality after every election to make sure everything is correct. The Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court was on hand to assure all votes were accounted for. The process, required by law, allows clerks to double check the vote totals in each race in their parish.
