The Acadia Vermilion Hospital in Lafayette will host a rational emotive behavioral therapy training event beginning Friday. This year is the second time the hospital is having the training. The difference this year is a select few individuals from the community and a group of councilors from Fort Polk will be attending, in addition to employees of the hospital.
An advanced practitioner from the renowned Albert Ellis Institute will serve as the instructor of the training.
The hospital is also introducing a new military program called FLAGS, which means forgiving losses and gaining strength. It's the only psychiatric hospital in the state to have an inpatient long-term mental health and substance abuse treatment program for active duty military and their families.
