NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a 48-year-old Gretna man has been charged with threatening to destroy a nuclear reactor.
William Dugas was charged Thursday in a two-count indictment handed down by a federal grand jury.
U.S. Attorney Jim Letten charges that Dugas called the Louisiana Public Service Commission and threatened to blow up a nuclear reactor because he was angry about his utility bill.
While serving a search warrant Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Dugas and handed him over to federal custody.
He faces 10 years in prison a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
