"I'm Jeremy Lawrence, I'll be your moderator and we're going to be going over questions you have submitted."
Debate moderator Jeremy Lawrence is ready to ask Congressman Charles Boustany and Jeff Landry the tough questions.
"I think we're really going to focus on things like Obama Care," said Lawrence. "That's been one of the things that are brought up. Of course, drilling, oil and gas industry, (and) jobs will likely come up."
And in the past few weeks, the campaign has turned ugly. The two politicians have been running television ads slamming each other's platforms.
"A lot of people are commenting on the negative nature of this campaign," said Lawrence. "So I definitely think we'll be focusing on that as well."
With the election less than a week away, this is a chance for voters to finally decide on the better candidate. And some University of Louisiana at Lafayette students are hoping the issues they're concerned about are addressed.
International Relations senior, Kyle Key said, "I would like to know how they're going to address fracking regulations going forward here in Louisiana."
"I would like to hear some topics about the public education system in Louisiana, especially around (Governor) Bobby Jindal's voucher program," said Michael Bazile, a political science senior.
And as a first time moderator, Lawrence is hoping the debate goes smoothly, despite the heat.
"These two men are both politicians, both professionals," said Lawrence. "My goal is to make sure we stay on the issues and stay positive and that's what we're going to do."
