Posted: Updated:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has reimbursed the Louisiana Department of Public Safety for nearly $1.3 million in costs associated with its response to Hurricane Isaac.

FEMA said Thursday that the money will pay for overtime expenses for police patrols and staffing at food stamp distribution centers, call centers and traffic control centers.

FEMA says it has paid nearly $46.7 million in public assistance funds to the state so far in the storm's aftermath.
