PINEVILLE, La. (AP) - Louisiana College is embarking on a $50 million capital campaign, asking for $12 million from Louisiana Baptist Convention churches.
Last month, the executive board of the Louisiana Baptist Convention approved the college's request to make direct appeals to churches to raise a portion of a capital campaign to renovate facilities.
The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/umhyEj ) the $12 million from Baptist churches will be used to improve student housing. College President Joe Aguillard said every housing unit on campus is to be completely renovated -- from new HVAC systems to new roofs.
He says restrooms and technology in student housing also will be updated, he said.
Tim Johnson, vice president of institutional advancement, says about $600,000 will be used to enhance wireless connections in student housing.
