It's in the works. Acadiana Bottling Co. in Lafayette plans to move to Youngsville. The owner tells us the ink isn't quite dry yet on the property deal. But - they're working on it. Mayor Wilson Viator explains. "I can give you only what I've been told by the CFO. Basically, they have signed the purchase agreement on the Southern Structures Facility." Southern Structures is located on Highway 92, right at the edge of city limits.
"They're going to be bring in roughly 170 employees to the city. People who will come here and hopefully be a part of Youngsville," says Viator. $77,000 in annual sales tax - that is what Mayor Viator says the bottling company will bring to Youngsville. The company's president says the move offers room to grow.
Plus, it brings the administrative offices and bottling services into one location.
Right now, they have offices on Hugh Wallis Road and Kaliste Saloom. "I guess once the sale is done I can say they're coming. We're hoping that will be completed by November and be in full operation in five to six months," adds Viator.
