
ZACHARY, La. (AP) - The Zachary City Council has unanimously accepted the low bid of $642,000 from Industrial Enterprises Inc. of Baton Rouge for water distribution system improvements.
City engineer Bianca Carambat tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/WIqc1V ) the company has also worked on a road rehabilitation project with Zachary.
Five other contractors submitted bids ranging as high as $1.3 million.
The bid, expected on Tuesday, is to be awarded contingent on approval of the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program, which has provided the city with $800,000 for water main improvements.
