An Opelousas man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle over the weekend. It happened on La highway 104 near Frank Road in St. Landry Parish just after 9:00 PM Saturday night. State troopers say for unknown reasons 69 year old Edward Lanclos crossed over the roadway and rode into a ditch.
Lanclos was thrown from his motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but was pronounced dead by the St. Landry Parish Coroner.
Troopers do not know if impairment was a factor in the crash, however a routine toxicology sample was taken.
