LEESVILLE, La. (AP) - A courtesy call for a Vernon Parish sheriff's deputy ended up with a woman taking his squad car.
The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/QqB3qc ) after the deputy arrived at a Leesville home and was talking to its occupants Sunday, when 39-year-old Christina A. Lord left the house, got into the patrol unit and drove off.
An alert was issued for the woman and the patrol unit, and officers with the Leesville Police Department and State Police found it traveling south on U.S. Highway 171. Lord stopped the vehicle, and she was arrested.
She was booked into the Vernon Parish Jail and charged with one count of criminal mischief. She posted a $1,050 bond and was released.
It was unclear if Lord has an attorney.
