Lafayette Police need your help finding the suspect accused of robbing and shooting a victim last night on Twelfth Street.
On October 14, 2012, at approximately 11:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 600 block of Twelfth Street regarding a shooting. Officers on scene indicate that the victim was walking when he was approached by 5 black males. One of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the arm and lower abdomen. The suspects fled the area immediately. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The suspect was only described by the victim as a black male wearing a black hat and jacket.
Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the suspect is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
