Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Livingston Parish. 50 year old, William Stewart of Port Allen was driving east on LA42 at Pleasant Hill when he entered a curve. His vehicle crossed over the westbound lane and ran off the shoulder into the edge of the roadway. The vehicle began to rotate clockwise, came back onto the roadway as it rotated, crossed both lanes again, and ran off the road to the right. The vehicle then struck an embankment and vaulted into the air, coming to rest on its roof. Stewart was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash which caused him to be partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner's Office. Troopers suspect impairment may have been a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
