Volunteers Needed For United Way Reader Program

United Way of Acadiana is in need of readers for its United Way Reader Program. Volunteers provide additional reading practice to students outside the classroom for one hour per week for ten weeks.

Volunteers will assist students in first and second grade with their reading. Visit www.unitedwayofcadiana.org to find out how you can volunteer.

Training sessions have been set for three parishes in Acadiana. In Lafayette Parish, the first training session will be October 15 at the United Way Office from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Acadia Parish training will be October 15th at the Acadia Parish School Board Office from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and volunteers in Saint Martin Parish will train on October 10th at the Early Learning Center at 1:00 PM.
