St. Landry Parish authorities arrested a Broussard man for simple rape.
On October 5, 2012, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a simple rape. Investigators learned that the mother of a 14 year old female arrived home only to find a 35 year old male, Todd Strodtman, half dressed in her daughter's bedroom. After the mother confronted Strodtman, he fled the home.
According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, "The juvenile was taken to a local hospital. It was later learned that Strodtman brought alcohol to the residence."
Sheriff Guidroz stated the suspect was arrested in Lafayette and charged with simple rape due to the age of the victim and the alcohol he provided.
Due to the nature of this case, no further information will be released.
