Opelousas Police Investigate Shooting Incident

(Opelousas PD) During the early morning hours on Sunday, October 7, 2012, the Opelousas Police Department responded to shots being fired on the parking lot at a local business.  Information was obtained that approximately 15 shots were fired from two separate areas within a parking lot at a local business.  Police arrived to a parking lot filled with people attempting to flee the scene on foot along with several vehicles also attempting to leave the scene. 

As police continued to obtain information, a report was received of a possible victim receiving treatment at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen area.  Police responded to question the victim in an attempt to obtain new information.  Some time later, Opelousas Police received a report that a second victim with gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital in Lafayette attempting to receive treatment.
