
MORGAN CITY, La. (AP) - Funding of $1.8 million for the completion of the Bayou Chene Flood Protection System has been approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Authority. The money will be used for engineering and design services. The levee district is a joint applicant for the development authority money in partnership with the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District. Total cost of the project is $5 million.
