The Ragin' Cajuns softball team begins the fall portion of the 2012-13 season with games on Saturday, Oct. 6 in the Spring Klein College Classic at Collins Park in Spring, Texas.

Louisiana is set to open the Spring Klein College Classic on Saturday against St. Edwards University with the first pitch scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
Immediately after the Cajuns meet Baylor at 2:30 p.m. for the squad's final game of the tournament.
Both of the Cajuns games can be seen on Field #1 at Collins Park. Players with jerseys get in free while all others pay $10.00 for a weekend pass.
The Ragin' Cajuns softball team, coming off the 14th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance and 14th consecutive 45-plus win season returns sophomore ace Jordan Wallace, who is coming off a stellar freshman campaign, where she was 27-2 and set an NCAA mark by beginning her career with 23 consecutive wins to start her career.
Senior shortstop Nerissa Myers paces the offensive attack for the Cajuns after hitting .391 with 13 home runs and leading the country with 83 runs scored in 2012. Slap hitting third baseman Natalie Fernandez will enter her junior season looking to build off last season where she hit for a career-high .436 average.
UL has added three transfers for the upcoming season, including Shelbi Redfearn (Baylor), Kristin Martinez (Kansas) and Leandra Maly (Blinn College) to go along with seven freshmen who will make their debut this fall.

Next week, the Ragin' Cajuns open their first of six fall contests at Lamson Park, hosting Lamar University on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. The National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars come to town that next weekend, Oct. 20 for a 5 p.m. game against the Cajuns.
