Pedestrian Shot Once by Suspect


Lafayette, LA—On October 2, 2012, at approximately 10:40 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 500 block of Martin Luther King Drive regarding a shooting.  The victim, a 40 year old male of Lafayette, advised he was walking on Martin Luther King Drive when he was approached by 4 black males in a vehicle.  He stated that one of the passengers in the vehicle exited and shot him once in the arm.  The suspects then fled the area in the vehicle.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for his injuries.  The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.  Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
