Police Shooting in Henderson - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

Louisiana State Police are investigating a shooting that involved a deputy with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

It happened around 10:00 PM Saturday night near Amy's Grocery store in Henderson. Deputies were conducting a narcotics investigation during a traffic stop. 

While stopped, the driver put his vehicle in reverse hitting a deputy.  Other deputies on scene opened fire on the vehicle. 

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The unnamed deputy, who was struck by the vehicle, is ok.
