Crash Kills Two Women in Ascension Parish - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) - Two women from Donaldsonville were killed when their car veered off La. Highway 18 in Ascension Parish and struck a utility pole, according to state police.

State police say the crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

Brittany Huey-Riley, 24, was the driver and Shakeria Riley, 28, a front seat passenger. Both were not wearing seat belts and were killed.

State police say Huey-Riley lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. A back seat passenger, 17-year-old Marcus Campell of Donaldsonville, suffered minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

State police say they are investigating how the crash happened.
