Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Ascension Episcopal Church for Ann LeJeune Bowen, 84, who passed away on September 19, 2012 at 4:45 am at Maison De Lafayette.
Reverend Joseph Daley will conduct the funeral services.
Mrs. Bowen, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Samuel Humphries and the former Inez Hollis. She was a member of Ascension Episcopal Church. She was a media personality at KLFY-TV 10 and then at KATC-TV 3, where she hosted, "The Ann LeJeune Show". After a short retirement, she returned to KATC-TV 3 to host a cooking show. Ann was Mrs. Louisiana 1963 and was a finalist in the Mrs. America Contest. She was instrumental in creating "Designfair" which promoted local culture, activities and the arts at USL. She was active in Lafayette Mardi Gras and was a founding member of the Krewe of Attakapas. Ann was a long time member of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She supported many activities in the local community including Naomi House, The Well and the ASPCA. She was a friend to all and a gracious, personable lady who felt that everyone had a story to tell.
She is survived by one daughter, Claire L. Hamilton and her husband John of Austin, TX; two sons, A. Andre LeJeune, III and wife Gracie of Dallas, TX and Sterling W. LeJeune of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Cameron LeJeune, Camille LeJeune, Graham Hamilton, Julian LeJeune, Stephanie Hughes, and Ashley Banks; two great grandchildren, Ashton and Caleb Hughes; one sister, Jane Pearce of Monroe, LA, and one sister in law, Linden Magruder of Baton Rouge, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, S. Womack LeJeune, and her second husband Kenny Bowen.
