Iberia Parish Authorities Search for Hit and Run Suspect


Authorities in Iberia parish are searching for a suspect involved in a hit and run.

Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 3500 Block of Curtis Lane at approximately 5:50 a.m. in reference to a hit and run. Witnesses said that the male victim, age 46, was attempting to cross the road way when he was struck by silver SUV.

Witnesses also stated the vehicle may have been a Nissan Pathfinder possibly driven by an Asian female. The vehicle stopped for a moment, but then drove off after running into the victim.

The victim was transported for injuries to his head and leg. The injuries did not appear to be serious at the time of the incident. However, the victim's injuries will be further evaluated by medical personnel.
