Romney Defends Afghanistan Omission In Speech

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Mitt Romney is defending his decision not to discuss the Afghanistan war in his convention speech. And he says President Barack Obama should use his own convention speech to "report on the promises he made." Romney today visited veterans in New Hampshire. Asked why he did not mention Afghanistan in his convention address last week, Romney said his remarks to the American Legion the previous day demonstrated his commitment to the military. Romney was the first Republican nominee since 1952 to not mention war during his convention speech.
