On Monday evening the Jennings police department received a call from concerned citizens who indicated several subjects at a residence on State street were unloading guns, generators and a pressure washer from a vehicle into a residence.
Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle described at a local business. Officers made contact with the suspects in the vehicle, the suspects were brought to Jennings Police Department where detectives interviewed the suspects, who during interviews admitted to several burglaries committed in the city of Jennings.
Officers went to the residence where the suspects were seen on State street and obtained permission to search, there officers found generators, a pressure washer, numerous guns and other various items that were confirmed to have been taken in numerous burglaries.
Detectives, through the course of the investigation determined that the suspects had pawned numerous items in the Lake Charles area, these items will be recovered in the near future.
The suspects are identified as 31 year old Robert Earl Simpson of Port Arthur, Texas, 24 year old Davis D. Freeman of Ville Platte, and 22 year old Anthony R. Jones of Jennings.
All suspects were booked into the Jennings city Jail on charges of Aggravated burglary, Felon carrying illegal weapon and Simple burglary. Simpson was also charged with burglary of a religious building and theft of goods.
