
According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 132 complaints and reports the following arrests.
Neil P. Scelfo, 49, 5213 Hwy. 87, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 10, 2012 at 12:51 pm at the address above for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of domestic abuse. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Scelfo had committed a battery upon the victim. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Scelfo was released on a $2500 bond.
Blair A. Nash, 38, 214 Mars Rd, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 10, 2012 at 11:57 pm on Arlington Rd. in Bayou Vista for driving under suspension and no insurance. A deputy observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted. Nash was unable to produce a valid drivers license or insurance. He was released on a summons to appear in court October 29, 2012.
Rudolf Edwards, 59, 1200 James St. Apt. 5, Siracusa, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 1:05am at the address above for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a complaint of a possible battery. When the deputy came into contact with Edwards he observed the strong odor of alcohol upon him. During the investigation Edwards began yelling profanities and refused to enter his residence. Edwards was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $250.
Harold Melancon, Sr., 57, 2700 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 1:51 am at the address above for two counts of aggravated assault. While patrolling the Franklin area a deputy responded to a complaint of an assault. During the course of the investigation the victims told the deputy that Melancon swung a crow bar them. Melancon was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $2000 bond.
Trayvon Phillips, 18, 240 A.B. Martin Rd. #1, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 2:50 am at a residence on Inez St. in Jeanerette for contributing to the delinquency of juvenile and resisting an officer by giving false information.
Juvenile Female, 15, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 2:55 am at a residence on Inez St. in Jeanerette for curfew violation.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a runaway juvenile. The deputy was given a description of the vehicle the juvenile was in by the juvenile's guardian. The vehicle was located on LA 318 and stopped. Phillips was identified as the driver of the vehicle. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Phillips was released on a $2000 bond. The juvenile female was released to her guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Vahjnia Thida'Me-Shia Toussaint, 19, 315 Singleton St, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 12:06 pm on Chitimacha Trail in Charenton for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy patrolling the Charenton area observed a vehicle run a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted. Toussaint was a passenger in the vehicle. During the investigation marijuana was located in the glove box. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Toussaint was released on a $2000 bond.
Rafael Flores, 24, 107 Bailey's Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 1:05 pm at the address above for disturbing the peace intoxicated and possession of Schedule II (cocaine). A deputy responded to a complaint of an intoxicated subject urinating in public. Upon arrival the complainant told the deputy that a man came out of a mobile home and urinated in the front yard. After receiving a description of the man, the deputy located the suspect in the mobile home. During the investigation a small bag of white powdery substance was located in Flores' pocket. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Bryson Skinner, 18, 1061 Grace St, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on August 11, 2012 at 7:50 pm on Grace St. for interfering with a law enforcement investigation and disturbing the peace. Agents of the narcotics division were conducting an investigation at a residence on Grace St. when Skinner attempted to keep agents from the investigation. Skinner began cursing and refused to leave the area. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.
Pascaul Ramirez-Lopez, 42, 619 Lonely Oaks, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 12, 2012 at 12:48 am at the address above for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of marijuana. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery. Upon entering Lopez's home the deputy observed Lopez drop a hand rolled cigarette to the ground. The cigarette contained marijuana. The deputy also observed partially burnt marijuana cigarettes in plain view. Lopez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $3500.
Richard Barrick, Jr., 202 Field Rd. #8, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 12, 2012 at 7:26pm at the Morgan City Police Department on warrants for failure to stop and issuing worthless checks. A deputy was dispatched to the MCPD in reference to a subject who had warrants for his arrest. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Ozimay A. Sonnier, 32, 827 Moresi Rd, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 13, 2012 at 1:04 am at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin, LA on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. Sonnier was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.
